Growatt battery compatibility starts with the inverter’s voltage architecture, not the battery name. Which Growatt battery fits a MIN, MOD or SPH inverter? Growatt’s MIN 2500-6000TL-XH2 and MOD 3000-10000TL3-XH are high-voltage battery-ready families that list ARK XH and APX HV. The SPH 3000-6000TL BL-UP is a low-voltage battery inverter, so its battery selection belongs to the LV family, including AXE LV in the Growatt configuration records.

That gives the practical answer: MIN-XH2 and MOD-XH use ARK XH or APX HV; SPH BL-UP uses an approved low-voltage battery configuration such as AXE LV. ARK XH, APX HV and AXE LV are not interchangeable simply because all three carry the Growatt name.
For a quotation, record the full inverter model, voltage class, battery generation, module quantity, power/control unit, communication cable and document version as one configuration. That is the shortest way to stop an apparently correct Growatt battery from becoming the wrong project package.
Start with the inverter family

MIN, MOD and SPH are not three versions of the same battery interface. Their names point to different inverter families, voltage architectures and system roles.
| Inverter family | Architecture | Growatt battery families shown in the product record | What to note in the quotation |
|---|---|---|---|
| MIN 2500-6000TL-XH2 | High-voltage battery-ready, single phase | ARK XH, APX HV | Battery stack or APX power module, module count and XH2 firmware |
| MOD 3000-10000TL3-XH | High-voltage battery-ready, three phase | ARK XH, APX HV | Series count, battery power module and three-phase system configuration |
| SPH 3000-6000TL BL-UP | Low-voltage hybrid, single phase | LV battery configuration; AXE LV appears in Growatt’s configuration list | Battery voltage range, continuous current, LV cable and approved battery model |
The MIN XH2 is a 2.5–6 kW single-phase battery-ready inverter with a 98.4% maximum efficiency rating on Growatt’s product page. The MOD XH covers 3–10 kW three-phase models and lists a maximum efficiency up to 98.6%. These figures describe the inverter, not the battery’s usable output. Battery power and current still come from the battery configuration and its control unit.
Growatt’s SPH BL-UP page identifies the family as an LV Battery system. The SPH user manual lists a 42–59 V battery range and up to 85 A maximum charge/discharge current for the 6 kW model. That is a different electrical starting point from an XH high-voltage stack.
ARK XH: the series battery route for MIN-XH and MOD-XH

ARK is a modular family with several voltage variants. This article is about ARK XH, the high-voltage route used with XH battery-ready inverter families. Do not treat ARK LV as a substitute for ARK XH in a MIN-XH or MOD-XH quotation.
Growatt’s official configuration quick check list gives the following working combinations:
| System combination | Capacity range in the list | Battery quantity | Control unit | Battery module |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ARK XH + MIN-XH | 5.12–17.92 kWh | 2–7 packs in series | BDC 95045-A1 | ARK 2.5H-A1 |
| ARK XH + MOD-XH | 7.68–25.6 kWh | 3–10 packs in series | BDC 95045-A1 | ARK 2.5H-A1 |
For ARK XH, the pack count changes with the inverter family. A two-pack ARK XH quotation can fit the MIN range shown in the list, while the MOD XH row starts at three packs. The quotation should also name the ARK XH battery cable, series cable, wall bracket or base, and the matching data logger where required.
The same quick check list is a useful document for the bill of materials because it places the inverter family, battery quantity, BDC model, cable and installation hardware in one configuration record. Download the copy with its source attribution from the CVC Download Center.
APX HV: the power-module route for XH systems

APX HV uses a different system structure from ARK XH. The battery stack includes APX battery modules and a power module. The exact power module changes with the inverter family and APX generation.
For MIN-XH, Growatt’s APX S0 datasheet lists the APX 5.0P-S0 system, 5–30 kWh capacity, one to six APX 5.0P-B1 modules, APX 55027-P0 as the power module, CAN/RS485 communication and a 6.2 kW maximum power-module output. The datasheet also states that MIN 2500-6000TL-XH needs a firmware update to work with APX 5.0-30.0P-S0. That firmware line belongs in the quotation record.
| APX combination | Capacity | Battery modules | Power module | Published power reference |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| APX S0 + MIN-XH | 5–30 kWh | 1–6 × APX 5.0P-B1 | APX 55027-P0 | Up to 6.2 kW at the power module; the inverter and battery capacity still limit the system |
| APX S1/S2 + MOD-XH(BP) | 5–30 kWh | 1–6 × APX 5.0P-B1 | APX 98020-P1 or APX 98034-P2 | 7.5 kW or 15 kW depending on the power module |
The APX S1/S2 datasheet lists CAN/RS485, IP66 protection, a 5–30 kWh capacity range and module-level energy optimization. It also states that the battery system’s charge/discharge power is limited by the inverter and battery capacity. A 15 kW APX power module does not turn a 10 kW MOD inverter into a 15 kW AC system.
Keep the APX generation in the BOM. The S0, S1, S2 and APX 2.0 documents are not interchangeable file labels. The APX HV product page and the APX HV Battery 2.0 page show separate product records and download sets.
AXE LV: the low-voltage route for SPH BL-UP

AXE LV is a residential low-voltage battery family. Growatt’s AXE LV product page lists 5–400 kWh system capacity, IP20 protection, cobalt-free LiFePO4 chemistry, automatic module recognition and remote diagnosis and upgrade functions. The current AXE 5.0L-C1 datasheet is a separate document from the high-voltage APX files.
Growatt’s configuration quick check list places AXE LV in the LV single-phase SPA/SPH section, alongside other LV battery families. The SPH BL-UP user manual identifies the inverter’s battery side as 42–59 V for the 6 kW model, with 85 A maximum charge/discharge current. This is the parameter line that makes the LV match visible.

Use the exact SPH model, region and approved configuration record in the quote. “SPH” by itself is not a complete model name, and a low-voltage AXE battery should not be carried over to a MIN-XH2 or MOD-XH quotation.
Compare ARK, APX and AXE before quoting
| Battery family | Voltage architecture | Typical Growatt inverter path in this article | Configuration item that cannot be omitted |
|---|---|---|---|
| ARK XH | High voltage, series battery packs | MIN-XH2 and MOD-XH | Series quantity, BDC 95045-A1, ARK 2.5H-A1 and XH cables |
| APX HV | High voltage, modular power architecture | MIN-XH and MOD-XH(BP) | APX generation, module count, power module and firmware |
| AXE LV | Low voltage, stacked LV battery modules | Approved SPH/SPA LV configurations | Exact SPH model, battery voltage range, continuous current and LV communication cable |
ARK and APX can share an XH inverter family but they are different battery packages. The control unit, cables, module count and firmware record change with the selected route. AXE LV belongs to the LV path; it is not a cheaper ARK XH or APX HV substitute.
Three quotation examples
Example 1: MIN 5000TL-XH2 for a single-phase home
Use an XH high-voltage battery route. The quotation can be built around ARK XH or APX HV. For APX S0, write the battery generation, APX 55027-P0 power module, one to six module range and the firmware update line recorded in the official datasheet. For ARK XH, the quick check list shows 5.12–17.92 kWh with two to seven ARK 2.5H-A1 packs in series.
Example 2: MOD 10000TL3-XH for a three-phase home
Use ARK XH or APX HV in the MOD-XH configuration. The ARK XH row shows 7.68–25.6 kWh with three to ten packs in series. The APX S1/S2 row shows 5–30 kWh with one to six modules and APX 98020-P1 or APX 98034-P2. The selected power module must be written into the BOM because it changes the published battery-side power capability.
Example 3: SPH 6000TL BL-UP for a low-voltage backup system
Use the LV path. The SPH manual lists 42–59 V battery voltage and 85 A maximum charge/discharge current for the 6 kW model. AXE LV appears in Growatt’s single-phase SPA/SPH configuration record, so the package should name the exact AXE model, quantity, cable and communication settings rather than simply saying “Growatt battery.”
Growatt battery quotation checklist
| Record | Example value | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Complete inverter model | MIN 5000TL-XH2, MOD 10000TL3-XH or SPH 6000TL BL-UP | Selects the voltage architecture and approved battery family |
| Market and regional version | APAC, EU or other local version | Controls the applicable product document and firmware path |
| Battery family and generation | ARK XH, APX S0/S1/S2 or AXE LV | Prevents different electrical packages from being mixed |
| Capacity and module count | 5.12 kWh, 17.92 kWh, 5–30 kWh, etc. | Confirms the supported series/parallel configuration |
| Control or power unit | BDC 95045-A1, APX 55027-P0 or APX 98034-P2 | Sets the battery-side control and power path |
| Communication | CAN/RS485, cable and pinout | Connects the BMS to the correct inverter interface |
| Firmware and source version | Inverter firmware plus document title and access date | Keeps the quotation and commissioning evidence traceable |
Save the inverter nameplate, battery model label, selected Growatt document and final configuration table with the quotation. It takes less time than resolving a voltage-family or firmware mismatch after delivery.

Frequently asked questions
Can AXE LV be used with MIN-XH2?
No. MIN-XH2 is listed as a high-voltage battery-ready inverter family with ARK XH and APX HV. AXE LV belongs to the low-voltage path used by approved LV configurations.
Can ARK XH and APX HV be mixed in one battery bank?
Do not combine them as one battery bank. They are separate Growatt battery system routes with different control units, module structures and configuration documents. Select one route and build the BOM around its own control and cable set.
Does the same APX document fit MIN and MOD?
No. Growatt publishes APX S0 documentation for MIN-XH and APX S1/S2 documentation for MOD-XH(BP) and MID-XH. Use the datasheet and power module listed for the inverter family in the quotation.
Does a 5 kWh APX battery output 5 kW?
Not automatically. The APX datasheets list the power module, battery module count and maximum output figures separately. The inverter, battery capacity and power module together set the usable system power.
What should I send for a Growatt battery match?
